Drink helps to draw without mercy :)

One of the best part of the Symposium is Drink&Draw evenings! Eating and drinking and chatting and sketching each other - what can be better? I also think that a "drink" part definitely helps to sketch be looser and merciless. Here are some sketches from these evenings in Barcelona.

Self-portrait

I never did a self-portrait, but sometimes I draw my twin brother, which is basicly the same thing, with a huge advantage: in the end I can always make fun of him... Is undeniable, the guy looks extremely ugly! Looks like he was hit by an uncontrolled bus...

ahhhh, the family

My daughter looks a face longer than usual when she is upset, then it´s a great time for sketching her without any mercy.

Edurne & Ramón

Thanks Cesar for invited me,

This is the last portrait that I have done to Edurne, although I have more mercilessly....;) This one I did it in August, inspired by Lapin, which was in Pamplona.

BCN's friends without mercy...

This is basically what happens when you try to draw people without actually knowing how to draw people, too :P

Smarties for French

BCN0-cena
Three sketchers of the French team, Martine Kervagoret, Julie Blaquié and Catherine Gout. They asked me if I'm wishing to eat smarties nowadays...

To sketch with the left hand is a good resource for sketching a selfportrait without mercy

...but I have more portraits about other people sketched with the right hand and it are without mercy too

Without Mercy:Patrizia

I tried to do a good portrait of Patrizia, but only came out a portrait without mercy. Sorry

No mercy with oriental world

Some oriental sketchers came to spend a few days in Seville after the symposium in Barcelona last summer ... They suffered the heat and my pencil here!! (They are unlikely to return)
Can you recognize this couple?

Celia Burgos

This summer I had the great pleasure to spend some days first with Inma and the week after with Celia in my adopted Galicia. I first had the intention to share a portrait of Celia I made last year in Zaragoza (De vuelta IV) but when reviewed the leporello I discovered that poor Inma was to close to cut her of the sketch and was drawn with far less mercy. But I think the good girl has quite enough for some weeks. So here is Celia in Rábade, as many people here told me: the ugliest village in Galicia.
I also noted that good looking people are more likely to fall victim to this category in my sketches - In the last two years or so I sketched Patrizia f. e. whenever we met and all sketches would fit snuggly in this blog ...

Inma and Alvaro

Inma Serrano explain the rules of Sketcher Cubism (during a presentation in Málaga). Alvaro Carnicero does not totally agree :D

HOLA, KAIXO, BON JOUR, HELLO, .....

Shari's workshop without mercy

Triad symphony Debo, Pramote, Esperanza, Shiho and Josu listening to Shari's explanations at Barcelona Symposium. Happy sketching!

No mercy for them :)

Hi,
Here are a few ones from this summer, and the process for each one was different.
Ursula is very talkative with a great big mouth full of teeth: this is where I started (and I forgot her glasses).
For Fabien I drew first his gentle eyes. (He would like to look like a bad guy, but he has definitely  a friendly face)
For Cat Gout, I started with the glasses sliding down on her nose (she looked a little surprised at that time).
And Pete had this very concentrated attitude while he was drawing a portrait of Gerard Michel in Barcelona, I did not have to move from my chair to draw him, and I think he did not even notice me.
