So a slight overdose of myself that I don't think it will be repeated....

Week of selfportrait series without mercy
I did an interesting exercise last year of doing a self portrait a day which turned out to be without much mercy as obviously there is a limit to nice expressions I can make. Here goes a whole week (not necessarily in order). There are a mixture of techniques - pen, watercolour, ipad drawings...

self portrait, Juan Mª
To sketch with the left hand is a good resource for sketching a selfportrait without mercy
...but I have more portraits about other people sketched with the right hand and it are without mercy too

Self-portrait without mercy.
Hello everybody, this is Patrizia, from Malaga, in the South of Spain.
I want first of all to thank César EclecticBox for setting up this fantastic blog, and for inviting me. All the portraits that I have seen below are so great, and all those funny comments...
This is my first post, so here is my self-portrait done while I was talking to the telephone. It is a really terrible drawing !!

A new challenge for myself!
Well… this is a BIG step for me to post to this blog but I just have to share how much the concept of this blog has already inspired me.
I always want to draw people but fear of what my loose lines will do to a persons character is a bit frightening. Somehow this has prevented me from trying but whenever I do try I enjoy it....crazy I know. So.... when I saw Inma's self portrait with mercy book I knew what I was going to do.
I picked up an old small sketchbook (in which I tried to draw people in the past) and have decided that no matter what my mood or what the outcome I am going to have fun drawing self portraits of myself WITHOUT MERCY!
I am already having fun and lots of it!!!... and fun means I want to do it more and doing it more means that I want to improve and know better where to improve and what to research…. (you can see the problems I have when I start worrying about doing it properly - example No. 1)
Also the idea is to write a few personal thoughts each day too (not included in this scan) things I wouldn't normally write in my daily sketchbook.
So stay tuned as I start a new and exciting adventure!!!
BTW I think that without mercy = no fear!

Self- Portrait without mercy
Inma Serrano by Inma Serrano
Following with the unending theme I have long been working on a self-portraits-sketchbook project called ´cause I have not a Grandma.
I try to sketch myself almost every day (not always I can).
And, of course, every day I look at myself in a different way.
Actually, there are lot of days that my face has a portrait "without mercy"...
...But sometimes the problem is not my face... are my hand or my head which have no mercy with my face...
Here is an example of a self-portrait without mercy.
